Since 1989, we are a civil society organization committed to the defense of the Human Rights of children and adolescents, both at a national as an international level. In this regard, we carry out direct care actions, monitoring, advocacy and surveillance of rights for and with children and adolescents, their families and communities belonging to the most vulnerable sectors of Montevideo and the provinces of the country.
Strengthen democratic processes that enable the integral development of children and adolescents as Legal Subjects, within the framework of the defense and promotion of Human Rights and especially the Rights of Children and Adolescents, established in the Convention on the Rights of Children.
To be a reference organization in Childhood and Adolescence, coordinating with public organism and the civil society for the generation and execution of comprehensive programs and proposals to address various situations that infringe upon the exercise of Rights and the social integration of children, adolescents, youths and their families at national and regional level.
We began in 1989 like a pilot project, trying to give a response for a new issue: street children. They, away from the school, neighborhood and their family, fullfilled the responses of the traditional institutions. For that, it was necessary a specific methodology for dealing with this situation.
The proposal was based on building a relationship with children and adolescents at the street, innovating in way of catchment and first contact. After that, the work was focused in the inclusion of the children and adolescents to their environment, for reaching enjoyment of their rights, communitary participation and projection into the future.
The acomplishments and the need for a stable proposal, we became in a civil asociation, in 1992, implementing new projects and making new methodologies.
In these years, our proposals have involved 6000 children, adolescents and young people.
